A significant number of HW Pickup students and staff have been required to isolate due to being identified as close contacts of multiple recent positive COVID-19 cases. This has resulted in challenges finding enough substitute teachers to cover the in-school classes. As a result, Wild Rose School Division has made the decision to move all HW Pickup grade 7 and grade 8 students to at-home learning for a two-week period starting April 26 through to May 7. This will be similar to the at-home learning that took place in December prior to the Christmas break. We look forward to resuming in-school classes for the grade 7 and 8 students on Tuesday, May 11. In the meantime, grade 5 and 6 classes will continue in person (other than the classes currently in isolation). Chromebooks can be picked up in the office for students who need them for online learning. Operational effectiveness and the safety of our students and staff will continue to guide our decisions in these matters.
